A LEARNING HEALTH CARE SYSTEM TO IMPROVE PEDIATRIC HEART FAILURE AND VENTRICULAR ASSIST DEVICE OUTCOMES
ACTION was developed to address issues of limited data and suboptimal outcomes in pediatric heart failure and VAD care. Recognizing that multi-institutional collaboration among pediatric heart failure centers would allow the community to acquire mastery and generalizable knowledge in this complex field, ACTION brought centers together to kick off several initiatives aimed at improving outcomes.
ACTION knows “the fastest and most effective way to make progress is through working together,” which is why we’re open to working with all interested parties—including patients, caregivers, industry collaborators, and other organizations. This article, published in Translational Pediatrics, highlights ACTION’s multi-institutional collaboration and real-world data-sharing through the formation of a learning health care system: “Collaboration and new data in ACTION: a learning health care system to improve pediatric heart failure and ventricular assist device outcomes.”
ACTION leaders David Peng, David Rosenthal, Farhan Zafar, and Angela Lorts co-authored this summary, bringing together pediatric hospitals across the nation: C.S.
